About Dr. Thomas
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and a graduate of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, DC Campus where I earned my Psy.D. in clinical psychology. I completed my predoctoral internship at the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health where I provided mental health and substance use treatment to teens and young adults at an outpatient community mental health clinic. After completing my doctoral program, I received training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) at the Capital Institute for Cognitive Therapy where I completed a postdoctoral fellowship and provided evidence-based treatment for adults, teens, and kids.
My approach is integrative with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I work from a trauma-informed perspective and incorporate various mindfulness, acceptance, and compassion-based techniques. I’m committed to figuring out what works well for you and providing treatment that fits with your needs and goals. I believe the best therapy involves collaboration between a client and therapist with a focus on strengths and values. If you’re looking to disrupt unhelpful patterns or habits and move forward in your life, I’m prepared to help you make the changes you want. I offer in-person and virtual therapy for adults, teens, and kids (8+). I’m licensed in Maryland and Virginia, and able to see clients virtually in 40+ states via PSYPACT.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my two affectionate and chaotic cats, Night and Arya. I can often be found trying out new recipes, getting out in nature, or riding horses in my free time.
